MWDB created this home for a prospective owner. It showcases a modern design with great attention to its site, experience, and materiality. It was built with best construction practices and methods.

The design responds to the patterns of the sun, prevailing winds and views, while balancing openness and privacy. Interior spaces are connected to the outdoors using architectural elements and controlled views. The entry sequence elevates you along a landscaped courtyard and opens up to reveal a sweeping view upon arrival. An expressive cantilevered roof over the rear veranda provides outdoor shade in the summer yet welcomes the warm sun to enter the living space in the winter. The west courtyard offers both a vista at the end of a circulation path and a private garden for the primary bath. The material palette is warm, crisp in detail and contiguous throughout, setting the tone for peaceful respite.
