Newly taking ownership of the building, the client’s goal was to contribute to the vitality of downtown by breathing new life into the neglected historic building. The program was to create economic opportunity with attractive ground floor commercial spaces and distinct second-floor loft apartments. The façade is rehabilitated to be sympathetic to its original 19th century intent while responding to existing structural conditions and accessibility needs.
