We met 21 years ago as graduate students at the University of Illinois School of Architecture, where we studied the earliest modernists, especially those of the Midwest. Seduced by the allure of the Pacific Northwest, we moved a few years later to Seattle to participate in their progressive design culture. We spent these years working on a variety of single-family residential projects, in the role of architect, carpenter and contractor.

 

In 2021, our roots pulled us back to the Midwest where we could be closer to family and pursue our goal of building site specific custom homes of our own design. We chose to come back to Urbana, a place that is very meaningful to us. Our mission is to contribute inspired design and quality construction to our community, the way our predecessors at the School of Architecture did decades ago. We’re very happy to be here.
